How Can We Help?
25. How it works when a criminal cancels the phone number for theft. And this is done with the SIM operator (chip), and it enables a new SIM card with the same phone number removed?
The mentioned case is a standard SIM Swap Fraud case. And it is totally protected with IPification.
It won’t be possible to access the service, with a new SIM card (with the same phone number), without previous confirmation that this change is done by a “real” user.
A confirmation can be done in different ways, but the most common ways are email confirmation (similar to the password recovery process) or password confirmation.
So, in the case of SIM Swap Fraud when some “bad” guy did SIM replacement, he won’t be able to use the service because first, he needs to prove his identity with the password or email confirmation.
